Who She Is

Frances Bushman is an accomplished Afro-Cuban soprano based in Apex, North Carolina. She actively sings in her community, presenting repertoire that fills her soul and is as diverse and colorful as her personality. Originally from South Florida, Frances has sung as a principal artist with the Lyric Orchestra of Fort Lauderdale and as professional ensemble member in the Orlando Opera Chorus. She is now an active member of the NC State Choral Artists, a new choir made up of professional musicians from around the Triangle, and Concert Singers of Cary, where she was most recently featured as a soloist in José Maurício Nunes Garcia's 1816 Requiem. Frances is a current rostered member of the professional ensemble at North Carolina Opera. Since moving to North Carolina, she has partnered with composer and pianist Dr. Abe Cáceres. Together they have debuted some of his original works, performed a solo opera recital, and presented recitals for Frances’ private studio, Peak Vocal Academy. This season, Frances is looking forward to singing as a soloist in Best of Broadway with Concert Singers of Cary and as ensemble member in Verdi’s Ernani with North Carolina Opera.
